Edmonia Lewis Black Chippewa

The process of picking up the stuff from one physical location and moving it to another and then putting it back down.   Yes, it's an incomplete sentence.  Trying Joe Sam's "Edmonia Lewis Black Chippewa" here...seeing how she feels by the new front door over looking two current projects of etched wine bottles by Etched Images and beautiful hand blown cocktail glasses by Ben Dombey .
She looks out the window to the park across the street in West Oakland.  I think I like her here.

And google both Joe Sam and Edmonia Lewis, please.

First Dogtown shot

Some Arnold Terminator looking hand.  3D printed with a stronger way more flexible material.
I enlisted myself to be the second "arm" model.  You can see why I thought I was the arm for the job.

First shot of way way too many in a day.  The way you can plow through shots now with digital, where in the past, what I did would have taken days and days to do.  But no more.  Shot lists are crazy long sometimes.

Dogpatch to Dogtown

After nearly twenty years in the Dogpatch, strangely the studio has moved to a little district in West Oakland that's called Dogtown.  Now how perfect is that?
Dogtown today is what Dogpatch was when I first moved there.  Real Rough,  Real Tumble, sort of that deserted feel to it.  Still industrial.  There was a concrete plant three blocks away from me in Dogpatch (now long gone), there's a concrete plant maybe four blocks from me in Dogtown (still going strong).
I do miss the sound of the tugboats pushing and pulling the big ships out of the drydock that was the front yard in Dogpatch but it's been replaced by the big thuds of big machines in the buildings down the street.

Tomorrow is the first shoot.
The Dogpatch is dead, long live the Dogtown!

The new view from the front door.
