I'll get to some photos of the chair later. I was hoping to show more by this time but yes, there's been supply chain issues! Ok, I was the supply chain issuer of the issue but still, been dead in the water for the past 10 days.
Finally, the music is coming back.
Last night.
I sit on a Cajon mainly when I try to make rhythmic noises. These were my three views from the seat.
Right, back to the cottage. Left, looking toward the street. Straight ahead was John.
Right
Chair process photos.
Four forms were made for the four elements of the bends.
They're being formed by bent lamination so the Ash was resawn to right around 3/32".
Here's the current thinking on doing that. It's been a radical shift away from my normal process of resawing which was a low fence, no featherboard and sawing a very thick piece of wood that because of it's weight retains stability.
Now, it's a high fence and an equally tall featherboard.
A grouping of the thin wood is glued and put into a vacuum bag.
They come out much stronger than they appear for how thin the stack is. It's close to 1/2" thick.
These two show a big screw up of mine of which maybe no one can see except for me.I have two more to glue up which is part of the supply chain issue. and I am stopping until I can have all the needed elements done before the next step.
