Taylor's action item for the creative meeting.  The overriding arc

It was decided Tay and Nick needed a proper light on the stairs leading up.  There in the blue lit area.

Talked about it over beers and taking some measurements.  We sort of made the lamp exist right there and then.  Then all I had to do was make it good.  A half a page of sketches really to settle on the design.  The narrative on the design will come later.

It was my type of meeting,  just talking and stuff without forcing anything.  That's when the something happens.  Let it be.

One of the best things from the meeting was the thought of  cutting out windows in the lamp and use a different form factor of the Douglas Fir.  So I cut out the rectangles after the glue up with a handsaw.

Use magnets to glue in the thin D. Fir.

It was decided at the meeting that it would be suspended by a wall mount rather then a hanging from the ceiling. 

Used the WoodRat, along with a studio made bottom plate (to be able to work wider boards) and routed a long sliding dovetail.

Circle cut to allow access to electrical wires.  And the cover to cover the hole.

So....the narrative, the story, the reason for the design of everything.  

The lamp itself has three distinct zones.  From a universe standpoint, the universe is chaos, order and the hum of the constant.  Or it could be it's about two people joined by the strong bonds of love.  Took the idea of three and put in triangles at the bottom to reinforce the shape while looking into the lamp.  The suspension system, again a series of triangles.

The wall attachment system is rectangle like the cylinder of the lamp, the pounded copper plate covering the electrical mirrors the central square and circle of the lamp.
